Edit: this dress has gone up to $29.99 on Amazon, which is still pretty great!

I am an autumnal woodland fairy hippie princess in combat boots, and no one can convince me otherwise. ✌️

I bought this floral maxi dress on Amazon for just under $19. I’m telling you right now, this cheap-ass dress is ONE OF MY FAVORITES and every time I wear it I get a ton of compliments. It’s one of those pieces of clothing where I almost feel like I’m kind of playing a trick on everyone; it looks and feels like a super nice, expensive dress, but little does everyone know that I’ve spent more on take-out for dinner than I did on this dress.

Such trickery. ;-) but this, my friends, is the kind of trick that’s also such a treat.

I’d say a huge part of my style ethos is finding cheap things and mixing them with my investment pieces. I invest in the kinds of things that last a lifetime (a quality leather jacket or a comfortable, durable bag), then mix them with fast fashion items from places like Amazon, H&M, and Forever21. And even if you don’t have the money for a couple investment pieces, I think a gorgeous outfit can be created just with inexpensive, fast fashion items alone.

And that’s what I did with the outfit in this post; not a shred of designer investment pieces here! Nope, the main players in this outfit are Amazon, Nordstrom Rack, and Target. The hat from Anthropologie and the leather jacket from Nordstrom are the most expensive things here, but both are still under $100.

So the point I’m trying to make here is that it’s totally possible to head over to Amazon and create an awesome outfit on a major budget.

And remember, you DO have style. I’ve said it before on this blog and I’ll say it again: everyone has a sense of style. Because everyone has things they love - interests and passions that can inspire a whole look. It’s just a matter of tapping into the things you love and taking a little bit of time to find those budget items through which you can explore your personal style without breaking the bank.

Finding things like this $19 maxi dress from Amazon can allow you the freedom to experiment with fashion without the financial pressure you’d feel in an expensive clothing store. so if you get the impulse to rock an outfit that makes you feel like a woodland fairy creature like I do, you can totally pursue that dream without spending a ton of money.

And no, it’s not too late to rock a maxi dress! Yes, as temperatures cool down, we’re cutting it pretty close on the remaining number of times we can leave the house bare-legged. But as you can see, you can throw on a pair of boots, a hat, a leather jacket, and even a long winter coat and still comfortably strut around in all your autumnal glory.

So if you’re in search for the perfect floral maxi dress, I recommend heading over to Amazon to check this one out. It’s comfy, pretty, and looks amazing when you twirl around in it. Basically what I’m saying is if you want a dress that makes you feel like a fairy princess as you twirl, this is the one.

This is my attempt at doing that classic throw-the-leaves-in-the-air kind of shot. It may not have been successful, but look how happy I look. That’s pure joy right there, haha.
